Le Mans is part of the Midnight Rider family. He arrives via Weisbaden, Germany and the kennel of Tara's Sarja.
I didn't think I would ever have a dog with a tail, but fell in love with the pedigree which is a nice combination of both Dani's and Zil's pedigree and I feel will make a great addition to our breeding program, although that is a long way off. The tail we will just have to learn to love.
About the call name...Le Mans is known mainly as the 24-hour road race, but there also an endurance motorcycle race associated with it. So picking up the motorcycle theme with "Le Mans Midnight Rider, we named Vincent after a motorcycle. The Vincent Black Shadow is a rare and highly prized motorcycle. The history of the Vincent Black Shadow.
Vincent got his first AKC title at the age of 5 1/2 months.....his CGC (Canine Good Citizen), and now has his RATN (Rat Novice) title to add to it. He also has his BCAT in Fast CAT, and was the first BRT to title in this event. He really loves it, but it's hard to find trials in this area when it is cool enough weather for me to be comfortable having him run a 100 yard dash and wait in the warmer weather that we have down here.
Vincent just loves to play ball and you rarely will find him without a tennis ball in his mouth. He has lots and lots of tennis balls and is never more than a few feet from one of them. He is very high energy and very different from the rest of the crew. Boots is his favorite and they are pretty consistent play mates.

Vincent at the Barn Hunt
June 2016
Vincent Loves to hunt rats. Just for fun we did a Barn Hunt Instinct trial at a show in December 2015. He LOVED it and went crazy over the scent of the rats. The first trial we could attend was in June 2016 in Kenner, La. He obtained his RATN (Novice) title in his first 3 attempts, improving his time with each. For a RATN title you have to find one rat (a live rat in a protected PVC tube), which requires the dog to distinguish between one clean tube, one tube with rat litter, and one live rat), go through a tunnel in the hay (not as easy for a BRT as it is for some of the smaller ratting breeds - Vincent is actually crawling through on his belly) and climb on the bales of hay in his search.. His first trial was 1:58 minutes, the second in :58 seconds and in the final title run he did it in :29 seconds.
This video is of his first leg in his Open title quest. In this competition he has to find the two tubes with live rats among 2 clean tubes, 2 litter tubes and the 2 live rats), go through a blind tunnel (dog cannot see the other end of the tunnel) and climb on the hay bales. You can see in the video that there is no question when he finds the live rat!
