In my efforts of continuing education I have completed the Institute of Canine Biology course Understanding Hip and Elbow Dysplasia. It is an all encompassing curriculum that includes genetics, environment and practical methods at improving odds of hip and elbow dysplasia. My future litters will benefit from this course. I am willing to invest both my time and money to learn from experts and not just hearsay from other breeders or misinformed philosophies. For an overview of the course visit the ICB Website.
I am now working on two additional courses: Population Genetics and Breeding for the Future.

We will breed only when we find what we are looking in structure, temperament and verifiable health tests. While everyone might not be looking for a show puppy, we do believe that everyone is looking for a good representative of the breed standards, proper temperaments that are good to live with and certainly good health. Genetics is an unpredictable science and even with the best information available good health cannot be guaranteed, but we will do our best to minimize any known genetic problems. I believe that the dogs should have either passed the health tests or have a strong familial history of passing the health tests. The further you get back in the pedigree the less information on Hips/Elbows is available and more is available on hips than elbows on the Russian sides. But both have a good strong familial history of passing from the data that we have available to work with..

If you are interesting in being added to our waiting list for a future litter please contact me and complete the puppy application. This was only the second breeding to pair a Best of Breed and Best of Opposite Sex at the Eukanuba National Championship, combined with all passing health tests. The first was Zil and Zoe.
Genetic testing for HU (canine hyperuricusosia) will be done on the litter at approximately 4 weeks of age, with results known prior to sale of puppies.
JLPP testing is not required since both Zil and Dani are clear of the genetic marker so the entire litter will be clear by parentage.

Health Checks:
Zilya
Dani
But just as important as the "official" health checks, you should also be extremely concerned about the functional health of the litter. By functional health, I mean, do the dogs suffer from allergy problems, skin problem, digestive problems, ear problems, seizures? These problems, although not measured by any health certifications, can create immeasurable problems for the puppies and expense for the puppy owners.
Serious puppy applicants will be provided with the name and contact information of our vet, to review the complete health history of both Zil and Dani, who have only rarely been to the vet outside of the normal annual checkups and all genetic testing certificates.
