Big show wins are wonderful but the true test of a dog is "Do you trust her with your granddaughter, or anyone else's kids?" The answer is yes.

We were really excited when Dani received her first major in Tucson by going Best of Winners at 6 1/2 months old. Her success toward her Championship continued in February where she got the required majors at the big Atlanta show and was just 1 point short of her championship at 8 months. She got the one remaining point in Hattiesburg, Ms on February 24, 2013 with David Harper and Zach Adelstein handling her at the age of 9 months.
In July, she made a trip to Greenville, SC with Jamie Clute handling and went Select Bitch to the top ranked bitch in the US, all 3 days for the required 3 majors with other champions defeated. Needing only 5 more points, she received her GCH with Jamie in Atlanta on August 23, 2013 by going Select Bitch 3 of the 4 days with other Champions defeated. Still just a youngster with a lot of maturing left to do, but we expect her to have a nice show career.
Dani comes with me to the office every day. It's great for socialization because there are always different people in and out of the office, lots of noise and different situations. She is very used to having strangers come in to meet her, walk over when she is asleep and learns both how to engage people and how to be ignored. I think it's the best socialization possible. I also started bringing her to shows as soon as she came home so that she is used to an environment with dogs, noise, and the controlled chaos that goes with a dog show. She loves it all. It is my belief that even though a 6 month old puppy in the ring with older dogs will always look like a baby competing with grown ups, that they need to start the experience at a young age in order to be comfortable around it. We look forward to a good show career with Dani.
But like we did with Zil, now that she is a Ch and GCH, we just need to wait for her to mature before she is ready to compete with the big boys!
HIPS AND ELBOWS DONE!!!!
Dani completed her OFA testing on July 23, 2014. Hips Good/Elbows Normal. We believe in showing, rather than just telling, so here are her x-rays. On the hips, coverage of femoral head in the socket looks good, very nice congruity around the socket, sockets are deep. I look at every BRT xray that I can get my hands on, and I believe that these are hips suitable for breeding. Elbows look good all around, nicely formed with no obvious defects. Patella testing was also done on July 23 and passed. Cardiac was done and passed on July 18.
